About 2,150 exhibitors will showcase the trends for the Autumn 2008/Winter 2009 season at the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf - consisting of the four fashion fairs CPD Düsseldorf, HMD Düsseldorf, Body Look and Global Fashion – at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany, from February 10 – 12, 2008 New exhibitors will include Esprit Maternity, Geox, DEPT, Noa Noa, Andy Thê Anh, Levante, Alba, Grinvest, Derhy, Lauren Vidal and Mayer. Nowhere else in Germany is the fashion range larger than in the Düsseldorf fashion metropolis during the Igedo Fashion Fairs. In addition, more brands will be presented in the 900 showrooms located in and around the city of Düsseldorf . Düsseldorf’s advantages include the synergies for the retail trade and buyers are increasingly taking advantage of the existing synergies between the four independent trade fairs at the Igedo Fashion Fairs (for example, buyers at CPD also visit Body Look and HMD and vice versa). In particular, full-range suppliers significantly benefit from this compact and comprehensive overview in one location. “Buyers’ time and budgets during the already short order phase are very restricted. No retailer wants to first attend a dozen trade fairs before getting a halfway representative overview. The desire for a compact information and order platform encompassing all segments is today greater than ever. We intend to continue down this road,” commented Frank Hartmann, Managing Director of the Igedo Company. With this approach, the Igedo Fashion Fairs also strengthen their function as an export motor. Especially buyers from Eastern Europe travel to Düsseldorf to place their orders and this trend will continue. This is one of the reasons why more and more companies are using the trade fair itself as a contact exchange in addition to their showrooms.
A comprehensive ancillary program will complement the exhibits. Highlights will include designer shows, trend shows, awards, information events and parties. Over 50 shows and events will be held in the Fashion Theatre, on the Body Look show stage, in the Catwalk Café of the Fashion Gallery and at other locations around the fairgrounds and the city itself. Parties in the city will include the Vogue Cocktail event, Gala’s “Lingerie Stars” and the presentation of the GermanFashion Award. The Fashion.Day of the German Fashion Institute (DMI) will be held on February 12 at the fairgrounds. The event will provide a complete picture of the fashion for the Spring/Summer 2009 season for women’s, men’s and casual wear. The special exhibition “Fashion:Pictures – Photographs from F.C. Gundlach’s Collection” will be held at the NRW-Forum in Düsseldorf. Visitors of the Igedo Fashion Fairs Düsseldorf can visit this exhibition free of charge.
