The company that invented blue jeans for working men created the world’s first women’s jeans in 1934 for bold women of the American West 

WHO:              To celebrate the 75^th Anniversary of women’s jeans, Levi Strauss & Co. Historian Lynn Downey will host events in Levi’s® Stores in New York (September 26^th), Los Angeles (October 3^rd), San Francisco (October 17^th), and Chicago (October 24^th)

WHAT:           Shoppers can see a collection of historical women’s jeans and memorabilia spanning seven decades and receive special discounts.  Lynn Downey will be available to media and consumers to discuss the history and evolution of women’s jeans.

WHY:             In the fall of 1934, Levi Strauss & Co. introduced “Lady Levi’s®” jeans – the world’s first jeans made exclusively for women (www.womensjeans75.com).  Many of today’s most popular styles, including the boyfriend jeans and skinny jeans trace back to the early women’s jeans from decades ago.
