Gadzooks, Inc. (Nasdaq: GADZ)announced that sales for the four weeks of fiscal August ended August 31, 2002 increased 0.7 percent to $30.5 million from $30.3 million for fiscal August 2001. Comparable store sales decreased 6.4 percent for the August period, compared to a 1.7 percent increase for fiscal August of 2001.
For the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2002, total sales increased 6.8 percent to $185.5 million from $173.7 million for the comparable period of fiscal 2001. Comparable store sales have declined 3.4 percent for the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2002, versus a 5.4 percent decrease for the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2001.
