WestPoint Stevens Inc. (NYSE:WXS) (www.westpointstevens.com ) today announced that Standard & Poor's Ratings Service, following a review of WestPoint Stevens' operations, has removed it from CreditWatch status and affirmed the Company's "B" corporate credit rating and its "CCC+" senior unsecured debt rating.

WestPoint Stevens anticipates releasing its fourth quarter 2002 results before the market on Tuesday, February 11, 2003.
