The National Textile Association (NTA) has joined the growing roster of leading organizations endorsing and supporting the launch of Material World New York, September 28-30, 2005, at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, including the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA), American Apparel Producers' Network (AAPN) and the Textile Distributors Association.

"As the largest association of fabric forming companies in the U.S., our organization actively seeks venues for the promotion of American-made textiles," says Karl Spilhaus, president, National Textile Association. "As a supporter of the Material World New York event, we look forward to the new business opportunities that will arise for our members to strengthen their positions both nationally and internationally."

"The industry has been asking for a New York event that truly puts fabric and sourcing first and Material World New York will accomplish this," said Tim von Gal, executive vice president, Urban Expositions, producers and managers of Material World. "The overwhelming support we're receiving from the NTA and other leading industry organizations will undoubtedly confirm the success of this exciting new global event."

The National Textile Association is a not-for-profit trade association based in Boston, MA. NTA members weave and knit fabric, spin yarn, dye and print and finish fabrics in the United States. For more information, visit www.nationaltextile.org.

An official event of the AAFA, Material World New York was developed in response to increasing industry demand for a global fabric, trend and sourcing event in the New York marketplace. Building upon the steady growth and solid international reputation of the Material World Miami Beach event held each spring at the Miami Beach Convention Center, the New York event will showcase the introductions and innovations from leading companies from around the world in every sector including fabric, trim, yarn, components, educational institutions, contractors, manufacturers, technology(CAD, PDM, web-enabled solutions), full-package providers, publications and services (freight forwarders, financial, color/trend forecasting), associations and others. In addition to apparel resources, the New York event will also highlight a special home furnishings showcase.

The September 28-30, 2005 event is expected to attract key decision- makers, including presidents, general managers, manufacturing vice presidents, sourcing executives, product development executives, designers, manufacturers, purchasing agents, marketing executives, branded apparel companies and retailers, including mail order, private label and e-business, importers and others.

In addition to offering an expanded global presentation of fabrics and services, Material World New York will also respond to the city's position as an international fashion and retail leader by developing extensive trend pavilion and educational programming resources for the fall/winter 2006 season.
