GERBER FORGES AHEAD IN 3D VISUALIZATION

Gerber Technology announces it has signed a distributor agreement with Browzwear Ltd. for its V-Stitcher™ 3D garment design and visualization software. Gerber will provide both sales and support to its customers, adding more value and breadth to its GERBERsuite™ line of automation solutions.

To better serve its customers, Gerber has developed a software interface that enables seamless integration between its AccuMark™ pattern design software and the V-Stitcher application. Available exclusively to customers who purchase V-Stitcher from Gerber, the interface allows pattern data to be created in AccuMark and sent directly to V-Stitcher and back. In addition, when pieces are modified in AccuMark, the garments displayed in V-Stitcher reflect these changes in real time.

“Our relationship with Browzwear positions us to provide customers with a full 2D-3D-2D design solution, from product sale through service leveraging Gerber’s extensive support network,” noted Angela Cruz, product manager of CAD software for Gerber Technology. “As an added benefit to our customers, the exclusive software interface to AccuMark PDS greatly simplifies and streamlines the design process. Initial user response to functionality enabled by the interface has been enthusiastic.”

“The relationship with Gerber reinforces our leading position in the 3D design and visualization marketplace. We are delighted to partner with a recognized industry leader like Gerber to reach an optimal coverage of the market,” said Yanir Farber, president of Browzwear. “The call for a cooperative effort between our companies came directly from mutual customers, the best indication of market demand and potential for the commercial success of our solution.”

V-Stitcher, implemented in 11 countries by customers such as adidas-Salomon AG, Desmonds, Nike, Russell, Benetton and Delta, enables designers to create a virtual garment from 2D patterns over a 3D true-to-life body image. This drastically reduces product approval and production times by allowing the entire supply chain to visualize products accurately and share inputs simultaneously without having to create as many product samples. As a result, time-to-market is slashed and, ultimately, profitability is boosted.

GERBERsuite and AccuMark are trademarks of Gerber Technology. V-Stitcher is a trademark of Browzwear Ltd. All other trademarks or registered trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
