APL Logistics, global provider of supply chain services, has won the award for the Best Innovation for 2002 from prominent retailer Limited Brands.
Limited Brands has more than 4,000 stores throughout the United States and markets it products under seven leading brands, including Victoria's Secret, The Limited, and Bath & Bodyworks.
Limited's Best Innovation in Systems and Service Offerings 2002 award was based on APLL's emphasis on providing creative solutions in the evolving world of logistics, leading the system development that improved the value of information to Limited Brands and its brand customers.
"What really impressed us is the way APLL responded to changing market conditions and regulatory requirements by consistently finding solutions that support our organization," said Richard Jackson, Limited's senior vice president of operations, who presented the award in Hong Kong recently.
"Many of our service providers have done an admirable job of innovating and presenting new service offerings, but overall it was felt that APLL deserved top recognition in this category for having consistently demonstrated the characteristics embodied in the award," Jackson added.
"It's an honor to receive this recognition," said Vin Gulisano, APLL's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "We see it as recognition of our unwavering commitment to providing our customers with the service and operational support they need to be successful."
APL Logistics performs a range of logistics services for Limited Brands, including origin shipment consolidation in Asia, Europe and Latin America, and helps ensure vendor compliance with Limited's logistics requirements. APLL also supports Limited's purchase order management requirements with its data exchange and supply chain visibility tools.
