The MAGIC Marketplace, world-renowned as being the most comprehensive fashion market in the world for men’s, women’s, kid’s, name brands, private label and sourcing, has now added fabric, making the event even more comprehensive than ever. Introducing fabric@MAGIC, the newest addition to MAGIC.

Located near The Sourcing Zone to provide maximum synergy, fabric@MAGIC allows buyers to source everything in one place at the same time -- without having to go from show to show. Moreover, the August dates allow exhibitors the opportunity to present their collections earlier in the season, thus enabling them to get a jump-start on their competition.

A sampling of exhibitors at fabric@MAGIC include A.B.C. Embroidered Accessories; Alicia Fashion; All American Supply; Buhler Quality Yarns; Carolina Cotton Works; D. Zinman Textiles; Deveaux SA; Fabri-Quilt; Impala Industries; Age Technologies; Lorenit Stoffe; Nippon High Pile; Pago Fabrics / Rosebar Textiles; Polymas Switzerland; Popular Textile; Raymond Limited; Unifi Inc.; Uniport Industries; and Vichuna Textile SA.

“We’re thrilled to be part of fabric@MAGIC,” says Kimberley M. Lewis, manager of retail and brand marketing, Unifi in Greensboro, NC.  “Since we have walked MAGIC for the past two years to reinforce our pull-through strategy with the major brands, it was important for us to participate in fabric@MAGIC in support of our direct partners.  Additionally, our trademarked yarns are gaining momentum with both groups, therefore, it was imperative that we have a presence at one of the largest shows targeting both audiences.”  One of the world’s largest producers of textured yarns, Unifi will be showcasing its performance yarns – Sorbtek™, Reflexx™ and Augusta™.

“The time is right for fabric@MAGIC; it reflects the trend of how buyers are sourcing fabrics now,” says Chris Cho, Senior Marketing Manager of Popular Textile Corp., a domestic multi-product knitting mill and dye house.  “Buyers are sourcing fabric before the design phase of the garment; this is speeding up the entire production process.  It benefits both industries to source garments and textiles in one place.”   Popular Textile will be introducing a full line of acetates for 2004, including stripes and jacquards, as well as a line of high quality mercerized cottons at a price point that is right for the junior and young missy markets.

fabric@MAGIC provides comprehensive exposure to all the buying channels of fabric including apparel designers, manufacturers, contractors, brand name suppliers, sourcing managers and private label buyers.   MAGIC attracts 80,000 attendees from 80 countries and represents 3,000 apparel and accessory companies as well as 5,000 brands.   Over 1,000 buyers from the Top 37 Apparel Retail Operating units (ranked by dollar volume) were represented at the February 2003 MAGIC Marketplace.

fabric@MAGIC will not only be the ultimate sourcing destination for fabric and trim, but also for leather/suede, new design technology and color/trend services.
