  Marshall Fields [now called Macy's] (part of Federated Company): Marshall Field's is one of the premier department stores in the United States. From its downtown Chicago beginnings in 1852, Marshall Field's has earned a reputation of excellence through numerous landmark achievements many which have been used as models for other department stores.  Marshall Fields was sold by Target Corporation to the May Company in July 2004.  Later May Company was sold to Federated Department Stores.
