The Art Institute of New York City : The Art Institute of New York City offers fashion design classes that introduce students to the basic skills of construction in sewing, flat pattern drafting, and draping and more.  The Art Institute of New York City offers classes in Fashion Design-Associate in Applied Science and Fashion Merchandising & Marketing-Associate in Applied Science. 


  Fashion Institute of Technology : The Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) is a State University of New York college of art and design located in New York City, New York, United States. It was founded in 1944. In 1951, it became one of the first SUNY community colleges empowered to grant the Associate of Applied Science degree. Today, FIT also grants Bachelor's and Master's degrees in fashion and related fields. These include some unique programs, such as the United States' only degree-granting program in Accessories Design, and the only baccalaureate program in Cosmetics and Fragrance Marketing in the world.

  LIM The College for the Business of Fashion :  LIM is a specialized college in New York City that focuses on preparing students for careers on the business side of the fashion industry. Theycombine in-class instruction with required internships where students develop real-world skills and experience. Since 1939, LIM has been offering students direct access to the world's most prestigious fashion companies through their internship programs and job placement services.   Pratt Institute : The mission of Pratt Institute is to educate artists and creative professionals to be responsible contributors to society. Pratt seeks to instill in all graduates aesthetic judgment, professional knowledge, collaborative skills, and technical expertise. The Fashion Design major prepares students to design apparel for various markets by emphasizing both the technical and creative aspects of the industry. The department's faculty members, all active in the fashion field, encourage professionalism. Students receive a sound background in pattern drafting, draping, construction, and sketching. Electives in special fields of design, such as children's wear, menswear, knitwear, wearable art, accessories, millinery, theatrical costume design, fashion editorial/magazine publishing, and advanced pattern making and draping are also offered.
