Simon Cardwell was born in Cambridge, England, a city known for its famous university and rolling hills. Simon could often be seen sketching the countryside and wildlife. His studies in nature brought him to London's Kingston University, where he graduated with an honors degree. Years later, while working on a South Africa game reserve, teaching underprivileged children art and sculpture, Simon found himself in awe of the animals, particularly a rhino with whom he came nose-to-nose.
