Yamak's flagship brick and mortar location opened in 2000, and featured many of the original designs by the owner. She was a young designer who had worked 10 years in the fashion industry with a dream of opening her own store. After a short period of time, Kanako's designs quickly sold out and the rapid success of the store inspired her to also carry other designers, both local and foreign, who have a special flair unique to Yamak.
