Global fashion icon Kimora Lee Simmons will return home to St. Louis on Friday, March 14, along with a production crew from her hit reality TV show Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane, to kick off Spring 2008 Saint Louis Fashion Week. Senator Claire McCaskill, Representative Lacy Clay Jr., St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay, St. Louis County Executive Charles Dooley and State Representative Rachel Storch are proclaiming March 14 Kimora Day in honor of the St. Louis native's contributions as a fashion icon, business entrepreneur, philanthropist and role model. City of St. Louis License Collector Mike McMillan will also be presenting Kimora with a Business Leadership Award. Before her rise to the top of the fashion world, Kimora grew up in the north St. Louis suburb of Florissant and attended Lutheran North High School.

Over the course of the weekend, Kimora will make several appearances, including a stop at Washington University, where she will be honored for her contributions to the world of fashion and the City of St. Louis. The top-ranked university will present Kimora with the coveted Susan Block 'silver Ripper Award from the Sam Fox School of Design & Visual Arts for her achievements. Kimora will be the first recipient of the prestigious award who is not a graduate of the university. The ceremony will take place on Friday, March 14 at 11:00 a.m. in the Steinberg Auditorium on the Danforth Campus of Washington University.  During the ceremony, Kimora will announce the creation of the appropriately named Fabulous Opportunity Scholarship, funded by Anheuser-busch. The scholarship to be presented annually by Washington University will help a deserving young student fulfill her dream of pursuing a degree in fashion design at Washington University, home to the oldest four-year fashion design program in the country.

Following the ceremony, Kimora will host a private VIP luncheon to benefit Nest, the St. Louis-based charity partner of Saint Louis Fashion Week. The 1:00 p.m. luncheon, produced by CheresseINK, will be attended by a select list of St. Louis top socialites and fashionistas, and will be held at the home of St. Louis businesswoman and trendsetter Karen Carroll, whose daughter, Margo Kopman, is the president of the Nest Board of Directors. All proceeds from the event will benefit the charity, whose mission is to change the lives of women in developing countries.

Following the VIP luncheon, at 4:00 p.m. Kimora and her camera crew will be at the Macy's in the Saint Louis Galleria.  Her appearance, which is open to the public, is expected to draw hundreds of Kimora's St. Louis fans. The first 25 guests to bring a new unwrapped toy to the event will receive an autographed copy of Kimora's new book, Fabulosity. The first 100 guests that bring a new unwrapped toy will receive a Kimora journal and autographed head shot of Kimora Lee Simmons. All of the toys will be donated to the Saint Louis Crisis Nursery.

One of the most highly-anticipated events of Kimora's St. Louis visit will be the official launch party for Saint Louis Fashion Week on Saturday, March 15 at Lumen, 2201 Locust Street in downtown St. Louis. Budweiser Select Presents: Kimora Lee Simmons
