The Train to Spotlight International Creativity Approximately 90 brands from 17 different countries will present their newest collections in September. Highlights include readyto- wear brands 2fer (USA) Showroom NY, CLARA COLLINS (France), DINNA SOLIMAN (USA) Showroom NY, ELENA PERSEIL (Romania), ENGLISH ECCENTRICS (UK), MARIE SAINT-pIERRE (Canada), among others, and accessories brands CESAIRE (France), MISA HARADA LONDON (UK), NATHALIE VERLINDEN (Belgium), OUFI (UK), RIVERSONG (USA), and more. As a stage for creativity and quality, THE TRAIN's stringent selection committee carefully selects the collections presented at the show. Terminal Stores, the former train station and warehouse located in the heart of the Chelsea fashion and art district, provides a remarkable venue for the unique event. As always, the layout is designed to provide buyers with one-stop-shopping, in a beautifully elegant and easy-to-navigate space. The single file booth design, on each side of the venue, spans a full city block. NABAZTAG Art Exhibit Straight From PRET A PORTER PARIS Known for its unusual and striking art exhibits, this season THE TRAIN presents NABAZTAG, the high-tech rabbit avatar taking over Europe. Sixty creators, including renowned stylists, cutting-edge artists, and trend-setting fashion and graphic designers rabbits, are developing outfits, accessories and cases for NABAZTAG, all of which will be on display at the show. Armenian for rabbit, NABAZTAG can read, obey the voice of his master, speak 36 languages, give the weather forecast, read headlines, send and receive email, sing, and much more. Be among the first in the U.S. to see a preview, featuring 20 to 30 NABAZTAG gadgets, which must be seen to be understood, before the exhibit continues on to Milan, Berlin and Tokyo, and finally back to Paris to be auctioned to benefit a charitable organization. Platform 2 at La.Venue at Terminal Stores PLATFORM 2 returns to its new permanent home, La.Venue at Terminal Stores, for the third season. Set to showcase approximate 40 juried international bridge and contemporary collections from nearly 10 different countries. Among the brands scheduled to appear at PLATFORM 2 are ANNA BALKAN (USA), ATIKA (France), BNG (Turkey), DIDIER PARAKIAN (France), TOOKATA PEOPLE (USA), among others.
La.Venue at Terminal Stores has been renovated, and is being managed by Sodes Inc., the parent company of the show. The 18,000 square-foot loft-like venue is comprised of four adjoining rooms featuring hardwood plank floors, brick walls, original wood columns, steel bracing and original arch ways. La.Venue has been designed to retain the old-world charm of the turn-of-the-century building yet offer today's high-tech amenities, including wireless internet. This season, while the City of New York's 11th Avenue subway is under construction, the entrance for THE TRAIN and PLATFORM 2 will be located at 608 West 28th Street (between 11th and 12th Avenues). As a result, a new layout will allows buyers to enter and walk through PLATFORM 2, which leads to the main tunnel and THE TRAIN. The main lobby which previously served as the entrance for THE TRAIN will host the show's restaurant and art exhibit. Cocktail Party, Complimentary Bar, VIP Services And More THE TRAIN and PLATFORM 2 offer visitors a number of amenities to make their experience pleasant and comfortable. To celebrate the show and the art exhibit, The Train's cocktail party will be held on September 14, in the lobby of Terminal Stores. DJ Lindsey will entertain the expected crowd of exhibitors and visitors. DJ Lindsey co-founded Frank 151, and with her fellow Negroclash crew, celebrated electronic funk monthly at the NYC club APT for 3 years. After spending time as FADER Magazine's Senior Associate Editor, she's currently balancing her role as party rocker with studio time, lending her vocal talents to producers and artists such as Rich Medina, Prince Language, Beans and The Rapture's latest disc. In addition to the cocktail party, visitors also are treated to complimentary breakfast and lunch, served at THE TRAIN Restaurant, as well as daily afternoon cocktails, at THE TRAIN's Black Bar and PLATFORM 2's Red Bar.
