Alternative fashion trade exhibition,
celebrated its 10th anniversary show in February,
surrounded by a strongcommunity of buyers and
Sunday Feb 1st, the Londonedge organisers put on a special
birthday party at the legendary Shepherds Bush Empire with free food and
drink and entertainment from Torture Garden Productions.
Managing director Carole Hunter said: 'sunday was a great day at the show
and the party afterwards was raucous and fun exactly what we expect from
the Londonedge crew. Unfortunately, the British weather hit hard on Sunday
night and we were greeted by snowfall on Monday morning which bought the
London transport system to a stand still.
attendance was affected primarily by the snow as many overseas buyers had
flown in on Sunday to attend the party. Organisers recorded 41% British
buyers on Monday compared with 54% overall at the show.
continues: We were surprised at just how many British buyers made the
effort and get down to the show on Monday despite the snow. We had one shop
owner who cycled 9 miles through the snow to get to us!
Tuesday 3rd February welcomed a return to normality and the
organisers were pleased to see an increase in buyers from 7 of their Top 10
countries including Germany , Italy , Spain , Belgium , Switzerland ,
Austria and Finland .
plethora of awards were also handed out to exhibitors with the Best Stand
and a special award for the 11 brands who have exhibited at every Londonedge
