Hollywood diva Jessica Simpson returned to USA from India yesterday with intricate henna tattoo on her left hand, which included an elephant.

Bollywood actress-model Neha Dhupia (Singh is Kinng), 29, threw a grand party in her honor at exclusive Vie Lounge in Mumbai,  where she went to shoot for her VH1 docu-series show "The Price of Beauty" with celebrity hairstylist Ken Paves.

Simpson reportedly completely immersed herself with Indian culture during her stay in India, where she was seen sporting traditional bindi on her forehead shaped like Hindu Lord Shiva's trident (trisula) and a sari. Accompanied by entourage of about a dozen people, she went on shopping spree in Colaba markets, shopped for chappals on Linking Road, went to Elco market to sample famous pani-puri, picked up an expensive choker necklace and ring set at a jewelry showroom, bought a sari from a Juhu boutique, etc. Simpson also visited a hospital in Airoli to meet a girl whom she sponsored for cleft operation, according to reports.

Seeing her interest in India's culture/traditions, Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has urged Simpson to further explore the rich philosophical thought of Hinduism. Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, also suggested Simpson to visit a nearby Hindu temple and have a firsthand experience of Hinduism. If Simpson needed any assistance in her study of Hinduism, he or other Hindu scholars would be glad to share their knowledge or arrange the appropriate expertise, Zed added.

MTV nominated Jessica Ann Simpson (The Dukes of Hazzard), 29, has achieved seven Billboard Top 40 hits. Produced by RDF USA (Wife Swap), "The Price of Beauty" show is set to air in 2010.

Traditionally, bindi is a small round mark of vermillion applied in the middle of the forehead close to the eyebrows. Besides decoration, bindi is said to be symbolizing auspiciousness and good fortune; strengthening concentration and retaining energy; protecting against bad luck and demons; etc. Various international celebrities like Madonna, Julia Roberts, Gwen Stefani, Nina Hagen, Shania Twain, Shakira, Nelly Furtado, Britney Spears, etc., have also been reportedly spotted wearing bindis in the past.
