We are really excited to open this market in the Garment Center
said Jonathan Ressler, one of the three brothers behind the venture. As
the Garment Center becomes more and more unreachable for the smaller
designer and artisan with rising rents, we wanted to open a space where
artisans would be able to show and sell their goods at a reasonable
price. Being in the center of the fashion capital of the world helps our
vendors as well as buyers for major chains are in the neighborhood every
day. We believe this is the future for smaller designers as they can do
retail and potentially wholesale in the same space. Underground-nYC is open Tuesday Friday from 11AM - 7PM and is open to the public for retail sales. This is the first vendor market in the Garment Center but it will not be the last. The Brothers are also planning on Running Sandy's Holiday Market at 401 Seventh Avenue for 15 days in December. |
