Small designers and manufacturers can now afford to show and sell their wares in the heart of NYC's Garment Center New York, NY October 16, 2007 Underground-nYC, an artisan's market located at 128 West 37th Street will open its doors to the public on Tuesday October 16th at 11AM. This 50 space market was created as place for small designers and manufactures to showcase their goods and sell them directly to the public. http://www.underground-nyc.com  The market features all types of artisans showing everything from Jewelry to custom designed handbags to unique clothing, leather goods designed and made on the spot.

We are really excited to open this market in the Garment Center said Jonathan Ressler, one of the three brothers behind the venture.  As the Garment Center becomes more and more unreachable for the smaller designer and artisan with rising rents, we wanted to open a space where artisans would be able to show and sell their goods at a reasonable price. Being in the center of the fashion capital of the world helps our vendors as well as buyers for major chains are in the neighborhood every day. We believe this is the future for smaller designers as they can do retail and potentially wholesale in the same space.

Underground-nYC is open Tuesday Friday from 11AM - 7PM and is open to the public for retail sales. This is the first vendor market in the Garment Center but it will not be the last. The Brothers are also planning on Running Sandy's Holiday Market at 401 Seventh Avenue for 15 days in December.
