Louise and I run the
Catwalk Creative on-line boutique and dress agency. When I'm not
sourcing out the best vintage merchandise around, I'm taking
photographs and writing about it. I love wearable vintage pieces
that work every day, everywhere! I'm a member of the Vintage
Fashion Guild (VFG) which is an international organisation for
vintage fashion professionals. I'm also a member of The eVintage
Society, one of the best destinations on the web for vintage
resources. So, if there's a particular type of garment you can't
find, let me know and I'll do my utmost to source it out for you. If
you'd like to learn more about Catwalk Creative, please read my
interview with Fashion Birdcage:
Why buy vintage? There's lots of sound reasons for buying vintage and
recycled clothing. Not only is it cool to be an eco-friendly fashionista but
what better than knowing you're purchasing the most dreamy merchandise that
no-one else will have? you're guaranteed that every piece of vintage
merchandise sold by Catwalk Creative is a complete one-off and therefore
exclusive to you. That's why shopping vintage is so exciting. You just never
know what you're going to find! So, if you are a budding fashionista, you
can adapt your favourite look from the catwalks of London and Paris to
achieve your own unique and individual style. All you need is a little
imagination and a selection of pre-owned and pre-loved merchandise. That's
how the name Catwalk Creative came about.
All vintage merchandise is hand-picked from around the world. My aim is to
bring you the best quality, lightly-used vintage clothing around. You'll
find fresh and funky vintage frocks, separates, outerwear and accessories;
all available at affordable prices. In addition, if you are shopping on a
really tight budget, take a look at Catwalk's Vintage Sale Items department
where you'll find merchandise at 10 and under (plus free UK postage).
International buyers will always receive a shipping discount. Simply email
to confirm which items you would like to purchase and you'll receive
confirmation of the price including shipping.
Customer Service - If you have a question, just complete the contact form on
the website; I welcome your emails and will do my very best to help. You are
guaranteed the very best in customer service; excellent communication
(polite and friendly banter); quick dispatch time (posted within one day of
your cleared payment); a 100% satisfaction guarantee (7 day return policy)
and merchandise that's tissue wrapped to perfection! What more could you ask
for? A free gift? Well, funny you should mention that because Catwalk
Creative does like to spoil you every once in a while. You just never know .
. . .
Dress Agency Merchandise - For those of you who just can't resist a design
label, the Dress Agency Merchandise department is definitely the place to
be. There's everything from Christian Louboutin shoes to Samantha Thavasa
handbags and some wonderful evening wear too. Catwalk Creative's philosophy
is all about recycling merchandise, whether it's fifty years old or almost
new. A garment that's been purchased in haste or one that no longer fits
properly should not be left to vanquish at the back of a wardrobe. So, here
you'll find a mouth-watering selection of designer pieces, all in A1
condition; some of it being brand-new and completely unworn. Just take a
look around to see all the marvellous recycled goodies you can buy, all from
the comfort of your armchair! The Dress Agency department caters for men,
women and children. Stock is added weekly so do keep checking back to see
what's available. Catwalk Creative is here to provide for all your
Gift Certificates - Have you run out of ideas for gifts? If so, Catwalk
Creative Gift Certificates are the answer. They'll be sent by email to the
address of your choice. You can print them off and put them inside a card or
the certificate can be emailed directly to the recipient of your choice.
They make the perfect gift for birthdays, anniversaries or as a special
'thank you'. Each certificate has a unique reference number. You can
purchase them in increments from 20 to 100 and they're valid for 12 months
from the date of purchase. Please refer to Terms and Conditions (item 13)
for full details.
Photographs - Viewing merchandise up-close and personal is really important
when buying on-line. However, most on-line stores will provide you with just
one photograph which can make your decision to buy a difficult one. Catwalk
Creative accepts that without seeing an item in the flesh, it can be quite
daunting to make that special purchase. What's the texture of the fabric
like? Will it co-ordinate with the handbag i've bought? And so on . . .
Sound familiar? Well hopefully Catwalk Creative takes all the indecision
away by providing you with three high-quality photographs next to each item
description - plus there's a whole lot more in the Gallery to drool over.
There's a Vintage Gallery and a Dress Agency Gallery. Just click on the
arrows left or right to move around each section. You can get a real
close-up view of the textures and colours and if you'd still like more, just
complete the contact form and I'll send you some.
Sizing - As well as viewing the merchandise, it's really important you get
the right fit. There's nothing more frustrating than receiving an item that
simply doesn't fit properly. Remember too that clothes pre-1960 do not have
size labels and even if they did, they wouldn't necessarily correspond to
today's sizes. That's why Catwalk Creative provides you with full and
accurate measurements for each garment. If you have your vital statistics to
hand bingo! If not, simply use the measurements provided against a similar
piece of your own clothing and always add on a good inch or two for a really
comfortable fit. There's a handy Sizing Guide to help you along your way
along with a modern clothing conversion chart with international sizes too.
And finally, when you're searching for your vintage gems, muse on the wise
words of American writer Gail Ruben Bereny who said, Above all remember
that the most important thing you can take anywhere is not a Gucci bag or
French-cut jeans; it's an open mind.
