Ralph's Frame Works (High Point, NC) reports significant savings and productivity gains after implementing Plataine's NESTERwood software.

According to Tom Rice, Owner and President of Ralph's Frame Works, the company has seen consistent material savings of up to 20% since it started using the NESTERwood software less than two months ago. "We are extremely impressed with how quickly we have been able to put NESTERwood to work," says Rice. "We started realizing the benefits in a matter of weeks. At this rate, it will take only a few months for the software to pay for itself."

NESTERwood enables upholstery manufacturers to respond to market dynamics and remain viable in an increasingly competitive global environment, facing customer demands for made-to-order products at competitive prices and with shorter delivery times. NESTERwood's Rolling Nest automatically optimizes the placement of pieces from one or more orders on multiple sheets of plywood, resulting in material yields that are consistently higher than any other solution. By generating efficient tool paths, NESTERwood improves the productivity of CNC routers.

"NESTERwood enables us to be more efficient in the use of material as well as the utilization of our machines," adds Rice. "It makes us more competitive and helps us better serve our customers."

"The furniture industry is continuing to face challenges resulting from a slumping economy, rising material costs, and intensifying overseas competition," says Elery Pfeffer, Plataine's President. "At the same time, there are still many opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and accelerate deliver times. Ralph's Frame Works provides an example of how manufacturers can attain such improvements and respond to these challenges."
