RVI (Retail Ventures International) was founded in 1996 by successful
entrepreneurs, executives and investment bankers. Their founding
principle was to create an interactive community of
entrepreneurs, partners, service firms and industry experts
whose combined impact will accelerate the building of companies
destined for market leadership. RVIs dynamic management team has
a solid nucleus for success. The principal founder and Chairman,
Oliver Kwon, leads RVI with an exceptional track record in
successful venture development. Retail Ventures was a
holding company for DSW (NYSE: DSW), Filene's Basement, and
Value City Department Stores. The retailer's Initial Public
Offering was in 1991 under the Value City name. Value City went
on to purchase the DSW shoe business in 1998 and Filene's
Basement in 2000.
