Bon-Ton was founded in 1898 and is a traditional department store retailer with a history of providing quality merchandise to our customers in mid-sized markets. On March 6, 2006, we completed the acquisition of the Northern Department Store Group of Saks Incorporated, making us one of the largest regional department store chains in the United States. Bon-Ton operates 272 department stores and seven furniture stores, located in 23 states, which encompass a total of approximately 27 million square feet across the Northeastern, Midwestern and upper Great Plains states. We operate under the Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, Herberger’s and Younkers nameplates.

The Bon-Ton operates in targeted markets where we are a primary department store. We offer a broad assortment of brand-name and private brand fashion apparel and accessories for women, men and children as well as distinctive cosmetics and home furnishings. Our merchandise assortment represents fashion, quality and value, with the depth and breadth to satisfy our core customer.
