Homi Patel to become chief executive officer of Hartmarx at 2002 Annual Meeting. Elbert O. Hand, chairman and chief executive officer of Hartmarx Corporation, announced the first step of a management succession plan: "Homi Patel, president and chief operating officer of Hartmarx, will succeed me as CEO on April 11, 2002." Hand will continue as Chairman of the Board until June, 2004. His promotion to the CEO position is the logical and expected step in the future management progression of the company.
