Black Friday is the retail industry's name for the day after Thanksgiving, when department stores and retailers offer huge sales and deals.

Black Friday Sales Reports

Statistics gets tricky because it is always important to compare apples to apples when doing your evaluation.  It gets tricky when some data includes pre-Black Friday sales numbers & other reports possibly exclude sales volume & dollars prior to the actual day of Black Friday.

Thanksgiving Day is a holiday in the United States, observed annually on the fourth Thursday of November.  The "day after" the fourth Thursday of November is "Black Friday".  Unless you are having a sale on the day after Thanksgiving, it is not technically a Black Friday Sale.
