Showroom and Exhibitors at the CMC Gear Up for Spring 2012 LA Fashion Market

The California Market Center (CMC) will be presenting thousands of Spring 2012 collections to buyers, Monday-thursday, October 17-20, 2011, for Los Angeles Fashion Market, also open on Sunday, October 16 for Preview. Resources will be featured throughout hundreds of the CMC's showrooms, in addition to special exhibit areas, including the sold-out SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow, TRANSIT The LA Shoe Show, and FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Tradeshow. To round out the Market experience, buyers and industry guests are invited to attend various special events, including a complimentary seminar, the F2 Runway Show, an Opening Night Reception, and a multitude of perks.

Contemporary showrooms at the CMC are reporting a excited outlook this Market. "Our volume of appointments is at its highest," said Robert Bronstein, BCBG President of Sales, Suite A571. " We are expecting our best department and specialty stores in our showroom this Market."

Coupled with this surge in buyer appointments is an significant increase in new showrooms and lines debuting at the CMC this Market, including Twenty10 Footwear, Alexia Crawford, and Sledge US, among others, as well as new lines are Hello Kitty Women's footwear, Andy Carry, Tokyo Jane, Marcia Moran, Honey Punch, Jude Wear, Neon Eaters, plus many more.

"The California Market Center is in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles' Fashion District," said Kim Halzle of Twenty10 Footwear, Suite A1007. "We wanted to make sure our showroom was where the Market traffic was centered, surrounded by relevant industry showrooms. We look forward to a prosperous future at the CMC."

Additionally, this Market celebrates a sold-out, fifth edition of SELECT Contemporary Tradeshow in the Fashion Theater, Main Lobby, Monday-wednesday, October 17-19. Launched in January, the show has quickly become a must-see for directional buyers sourcing upmarket Contemporary apparel and accessories brands. "We've received a record amount of applications for this show, many from the East Coast" says Joanne Lee, Senior Vice President and Tradeshow Producer of SELECT. "Because our goal is to continue presenting a juried, intimate show in our Fashion Theater space, we cannot accept every applicant into the show. We have a great mix of apparel and accessories for this upcoming October edition, including several new exhibitors."

New SELECT exhibitors include JIA Collection, Jessica Barkley, Tina Huang, Butter by Nadia, Helena Quinn, Double Happiness, Noblita, Three Stones, Mary Louise Designs, Helen Kaminski, Katriel, Allen Allen, Ma Belle Showroom, and Bravo Bags. Returning exhibitors include Magaschoni, Casting, Mystique, Minnie Rose, ADA Handbags, Monserat De Luca, Gillian Julius, Christopher Inge, Whiting & Davis, People Like Frank, Sam Edelman, Libby Edelman, Voom by Joy Han, Bella Luxx, Boutique 9, Azaara, Royal Plush, Pour La Victoire, Dress to Kill, Deepa Gurnani, Beagle House NYC, KZ Designs, Marcia Moran, Remi & Reid, Hyde and Streets Ahead.

Also featured Monday-wednesday are FOCUS Apparel & Accessories Show and TRANSIT LA Shoe Show, both presented in the CMC's Penthouse, 13th floor. TRANSIT is LA's only dedicated footwear show, with notable exhibitors including Jeffrey Campbell, L.A.M.B., Badgley Mischka, Vince Camuto, Matiko, Irregular Choice, Kelsi Dagger, DV by Dolce Vita, Lovely People, Report Signature, Gee Wawa, Steve Madden, Frye, Seychelles, BC Footwear, Jessica Simpson, and BCBGeneration. FOCUS offers a well-rounded mix of merchandise from emerging and established labels, featuring exhibitors Wanderlust, Mossmann Australia, Mode Ré uisé, Allison Izu Copenhagen Luxe, Wave, Stay by Stacey Angel and SLOWCOLOR, among others. This season, FOCUS will be embedded within TRANSIT, featuring a one-way directional flow of traffic to make it easier for buyers to navigate the hundreds of footwear, apparel and accessories available in the expansive Penthouse venue.

FOCUS will host the F2 Runway Show, produced by The Fashion Office, on Monday, October 17 at 12:00pm in the Penthouse. The show will include designers Atelier Basil, Christian Laurent, JOI, and Linden.

Monday afternoon also features a complimentary seminar entitled "The Silent Salesperson- Visual Merchandising" by Mercedes Gonzalez of Global Purchasing Companies. Buyers and industry guests are invited to learn about the vital power of first impressions through visual merchandising in order to attract customers, make sales and build a brand. This seminar is scheduled for Monday, October 17 at 2:00pm in Seminar Suite A206.

On Monday evening, buyers and industry guests are invited to an Opening Night Party hosted by the CMC from 5:30pm- 7:30pm in the Main Lobby. Featuring complimentary cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and live DJ, the event is sponsored by Trader Vic's LA Live, Izze and Lite Pom.

AREA 4, the new men's contemporary showroom gallery located on the 4th floor, B-wing, will be celebrating with a Launch Party open to buyers and industry guests, co-sponsored by Antenna Magazine, Original Penguin, Pop Chips and Hint Mint. Will Leather will be giving away fifty bags to the first fifty guests. The launch party will be held AREA 4 from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Tuesday, October 18.

Finally, buyers and attendees can expect an array of perks and giveaways, including Beauty Bars & Lounges offering complimentary manicures by POP Beauty, makeovers by Nakeah Cosmetics, dry cuts and blowouts by Oliver Ifergan Atelier, as well as giveaways, drinks and snacks on almost every floor. Additionally, all attendees who write a purchase order in a CMC Showroom qualify for free parking in our underground garage.

Spring 2012 Los Angeles Fashion Market takes place Monday-thursday, October 17-20, 2011 at the California Market Center. Market hours are 9:00am- 6:00pm daily, with Sunday open for Preview by appointment.
