After fighting in the Yom Kippur war and serving as an instructor and developer of special weapons for the Israeli army, he traveled to America and began selling Tulip paints to arts and crafts stores and schools. He soon became one of the largest distributors of Tulip paint in the country. After his success in sales, he expanded to manufacturing appliqu's and embellishments, and by the mid-1990's he was designing and creating women's garments. In 2008, Oved further expanded the Las Olas brand by partnering with Hadley Capital of Chicago, Illinois.

Today, Las Olas produces a full collection of blank garments with the intention that each individual piece can make the perfect outfit with a jacket, blouse, tank, t-shirt, v-neck, capris, pants, dress, skirt or anything else.
