BASF's MOOO>TM dyeable polypropylene fiber technology has won the Society of Dyers and colorists (SDC) Color Innovation Award 2008. The SDC judging panel announced the winner last month at its International Color Awards dinner in Bradford, United Kingdom.

BASF has developed a completely new coloration process for polypropylene in the textile and apparel industry, thus making it possible to dye polypropylene efficiently and flexibly.

The MOOO>TM fiber incorporates innovative ImPPulse technology. This technology allows fabrics from colorless MOOO>TM fiber to be color-dyed, which was previously not possible for polypropylene. fabrics can now easily be dyed with disperse dyes in aqueous media in a standard industry process. The invention also provides brilliant color shades to meet fast-moving market trends.

At BASF, innovation drives sustainability in all production industries. With its innovative MOOO>TM dyeable polypropylene fiber technology, BASF opens up new market opportunities and helps its customers to be more successful.
