Fashion design is the art of application of design and aesthetics or natural beauty to clothing and accessories. Fashion designers work in a number of ways in designing clothing and accessories such as bracelets and necklace. Because of the time required to bring a garment onto the market, designers must at times anticipate changes to consumer tastes.  Fashion designers work in several different ways to create their masterpieces. Each designer may have their own unique style and flare to the product development process.  Some sketch their ideas on paper, while others may drape fabric on a dress form and let their creative eye do the work. When a designer is completely satisfied with the concept, he or she may consult a professional pattern maker who then makes the finished, working version of the pattern out of card or via a computerized system. Obviously some fashion designers are also trained in the art form of pattern making so they may not actually need the assistance of outside pattern making professional. The pattern maker's job is very precise and painstaking. The fit of the finished garment depends on their accuracy.

Fashion design is influenced by many different things.  Cultural, social attitudes, peer influence, marketing, and even social media play an important role in clothing selection and trends.  It is important that modern fashion designers pay close attention to signals from consumers so that they are aware of the wants and needs of clothes & footwear shoppers.
