Payless ShoeSource, Inc. (NYSE: PSS) today reported that same-store sales decreased 3.0 percent during fiscal November, the four weeks ended December 1, 2001 versus the four weeks of fiscal November 2000. Company sales totaled $216.0 million, a 0.4 percent decrease from $217.0 million during the four weeks of fiscal November 2000. Total sales for the first ten months of fiscal 2001 were $2.49 billion, a 0.9 percent increase from $2.47 billion during the similar period in fiscal 2000. Same-store sales decreased 2.2 percent during the first ten months of the fiscal year.
