Island Pacific, a division of SVI Solutions, Inc. (AMEX: SVI), today announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Planalytics Inc. Under terms of the agreement, Island Pacific will market Planalytics’ Impact LR, an internet-based application that measures the specific effects of future weather on consumer demand by product, location, and time.

“We are extending our offerings through close alliances with companies like Planalytics,” said Steven Beck, president of Island Pacific. “We believe our customers can benefit from their expertise. Using Impact LR, they can plan the timing of in-season markdowns, as well as the season-to-season flow of merchandise into their stores with maximum effectiveness.”

“We are excited about our partnership with Island Pacific,” said Frederic Fox, president and ceo of Planalytics. “In addition to offering Impact LR to their customers, we will work with Island Pacific to integrate future weather-driven demand intelligence into their Merchandise Management System.”

Impact LR provides retailers and manufacturers with knowledge of how weather has and will influence their business up to one year in advance in order to support more effective planning and forecasting, product distribution and allocation, and advertising and promotion timing.
