Burlington Industries, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: BRLG) announced that Joseph L. Gorga, formerly Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of CMI Industries, Inc., has joined the company today as Executive Vice President North American Operations. Gorga will report to George W. Henderson, III, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Burlington.

Henderson said, "We are pleased to have someone with Joe's strong operational background and proven leadership join our company. His knowledge of our industry and overall expertise, along with his diverse experience will strengthen our North American operations and the success of the company."

Gorga, 50, joined CMI Industries, Inc. in 1991 as President of the Elastic Fabrics of America division, later serving as President of CMI's Finished Fabrics division until his appointment as Chairman and CEO in 1996. Prior to joining CMI, Gorga was employed with Milliken & Company for 16 years where he served in a number of senior level positions.

Gorga, a native of Patterson, NJ, holds a BS degree from Philadelphia University and a MS degree from the Institute of Textile Technology. He and his wife, Carolyn, live in Greensboro with their two children
