Irvine, CA August 2005 – Eric Foss and Clifton Chason; owners of Digital Ink, a design firm in Santa Ana which specializes in fashion design, together launched a men’s brand named Affliction® in June of 2005. The brand is targeted at fashion forward men and will be available at key retailers starting August 2005. In addition, Affliction® has hired Troy Joyce, formerly of Dragonfly® Clothing as Sales Manager and Matt Leedom as a sales associate.

“It was inevitable that we would eventually launch our own brand” says Eric Foss, co-founder and lead designer of Affliction®. “We have been helping clients build brands for years and now is the right time for us to do the same. The line embodies our generation’s fast and loud lifestyle. We take all of our inspirations from music, art, culture, etc. and shove them straight in to your face through contemporary fashion.”

The line consists of vintage fit tees, hoods, polos, and thermals which are all garment dyed and hand distressed. Intricate, yet edgy art has been hand drawn with absolute detail to complement each piece of the line. The garments are softened with various wash techniques including silicon, enzyme, and mineral washes. The graphics are screen-printed using water base inks, which yield a no-hand feel and add to the vintage look.

Affliction plans to debut the brand at the Pool Trade Show in Las Vegas August 29-31st.
