Messe Frankfurt Inc., organizer of Intima America and The Intimate Apparel Salon, has secured an exciting new location for the upcoming fall edition. The show will inaugurate the newly constructed Conference Center of FIT, the renowned and globally respected Fashion Institute of Technology. Located in the heart of Manhattan (entrance on 28 th Street and 7 th Avenue) FIT’s innovative, state-of-the-art facility will host some of the industry’s top brands and up and coming designers in an elegant, contemporary setting. The two-day format will be concurrent with the November Intimate Apparel Market Week.
The Intimate Apparel Salon is proud to announce that New York’s Underfashion Club, Inc. will co-sponsor a Student Design Contest in conjunction with FIT. The contest will take place on the show floor. The winning students will be honored in an onsite ceremony, November 1 st at 2:00 pm.The Underfashion Club's membership includes top industry executives, merchandisers, designers and many others whose businesses or careers revolve around intimate apparel. The SAIG Committee (Scholarships, Awards, Internships and Grants) of the Underfashion Club sponsors scholarships and supports education programs at both FIT and the High School of Fashion Industries to foster new talent in the intimate apparel field. The Intimate Apparel Salon, the SAIG Committee of the Underfashion Club and Colette Wong, Assistant Chairperson of Fashion Design-Apparel at FIT and Advisor of FIT’s Intimate Apparel Club, will collaborate to present a special area on the Intimate Apparel Salon show floor where FIT students will display their designs. Ms. Wong noted, “We are so pleased that our students will have an opportunity to present their work at an important industry trade show. We have been working with the Underfashion Club’s SAIG Committee on their Internship Program, which provides our students with an invaluable experience interning at major industry companies. This design contest is another wonderful, cooperative venture for us.”

As a cornerstone to the fall’s only intimate apparel show, leading brands such as Aubade, Chantelle, Christine Vancover, Le Mystere, Rago and Mary Green will be highlighting their latest creations. As a complement, new young designers will introduce their best designs and trends for the intimate apparel industry. Other outstanding additions to the line-up are BB Curves, Adagio, Daniella Simon, Jacques Levine, Levante and more. Seasonal immediates as well as lingerie, daywear and loungewear collections for 2005 will receive an ample amount of attention at the 2004 Intimate Apparel Salon.
