Robin Anson, Editorial Director of Textiles Intelligence, was invited to speak at the IV Annual World Free Zone Convention held in Cape Town, South Africa, on October 29-30, 2004.
The international conference was convened to give delegates from throughout the world a clearer understanding of the dynamic growth sector of international free zones. Robin Anson's presentation was on:
World Textiles and Clothing: How Will Producing Countries Shape Up in the Quota-Free World of 2005 and Beyond?
Speakers at the conference presented case studies of successful free zones around the world, and discussed such issues as government legislation, foreign investment, supply chain management and other strategies related to the development of international free zones.
A range of industries were represented, in addition to textiles and apparel. Other guest speakers provided an overview of such industries as farming, automotive, and energy.
