Island Pacific, a division of SVI Solutions, Inc. (AMEX: SVI), announced today at the Retail Systems 2003 Conference and Exhibition at McCormick Place in Chicago that the Island Pacific Store Solutions division is introducing OnePointe™ 6.0, the latest version of its point-of-sale (POS) software. The new version has been built on peer to peer connectivity technology to support multi-channel retailing and real-time communications 24/7.

“This is the first in an aggressive rollout of next generation retail store level products and services designed to expedite, enhance and enlighten the shopping experience for the customer,” said Randy Pagnotta, recently appointed president of Island Pacific's Store Solutions division. “As we continue to build our in-store offerings, we remain committed to applications that leverage technology, achieve operational benefits, and protect our clients’ investment.”

OnePointe 6.0 is a feature-rich application created with the specialty retailer in mind. It is the result of over ten years of product development with input from some of the top retailers in the world. Deployed on Microsoft Windows XP, .NET-centric with peer to peer technology, it is provided in a thick or thin environment. Features include remote stock lookup, remote special order, gift certificate and store credit authorization, and centralized customer and associate databases for the entire chain. The new version incorporates a Terminal Simulator to generate and run test scripts and TAG (Terminal Application Generator), a GUI that manages terminal changes. Additionally, the software was designed to be easy for the retailer to tailor to their needs.

OnePointe 6.0 Plus, a superset of OnePointe 6.0, is a customizable version that includes the same suite of applications as OnePointe 6.0, but is delivered with the development kit.

Island Pacific is a supporting sponsor of the Small to Mid-sized Retailer (SMR) Solutions Center pavilion at Retail Systems 2003 and will be exhibiting in Booth #1335.
