About the Fair:
“EGYTEX 2008" Trade Fair is the largest and the only
internationally established trade show in
Egypt for manufacturers of Fibers, Yarns, Fabrics,
Apparel, Home Textiles and Accessories. Providing a display of
the full spectrum of the supply chain involved in the textile
manufacturing; thus offering extensive choices for an advanced
and complete chain on the production aspects of the textile
products. The ultimate goal of “Egytex 2008" Trade Fair is the
increase of trade relations from and to
Egypt under a professional event which attracts a vast
range of international and local buyers.

separate segments, and incorporated into these are the local and

entire fiber and yarn industry including yarns for apparel
textiles, home textiles, upholstery and interiors textiles.

Egytex is an annual Trade Fair but last year wasn't held.
The last Egytex that was held was in 2006, which was called:
Egytex 2006, it had 130 Exhibitor, 476 buyers and 278 buying
agents representing all major markets for Egypt's textile and
clothing exports. Apart from sizeable representation from
leading companies catering to the markets in U.S.A., U.K.,
Spain, France, Germany and
Italy, there were buyers from Australia, New Zealand,
China visiting the three day event.
Continuing its steady growth the 24% increase in number of
buyers/buying agents as well as participants in this edition of
the fair compared to the last Egytex 2004 fair strongly
indicates the increasing importance of Egytex, both from the
exhibitors and the buyer's point of view.
The 6th edition of Egytex held from 9th to 11th of May, 2005 saw
participation of 130 exhibitors who showcased their best variety
in yarns, fabrics, apparel, home textile and accessories for an
impressive audience that included 476 overseas buyers and 278
buying agencies. The encouraging traffic of visitors indicated
Egypt is being looked upon as a major source of apparel
worldwide and the Egytex Trade Fair is an ideal platform not
only to initiate business but also to understand the high
potential and capabilities of the Egyptian textile and garment
industry to match the best in the world.
