GJM/Tomwell – Sleepwear,
Lingerie, Career Wear and Ladies Fashion In 2002 and 2004, Luen Thai acquired Glynn and
Jacquelyn Manson (GJM) and Tomwell Limited, respectively.
GJM was the sleepwear division of New York-based Warnaco
Group Inc. whose major clients include Victoria's Secret and
Calvin Klein. Tomwell Limited, on the other hand, was
previously owned by Kasper Limited, a leading ladies' suits
and career wear company acquired by New York Stock
Exchange-listed Jones Apparel Group, Inc.
Yuen Thai – Activewear
In 2004, Luen Thai and Yue Yuen, the world's largest
footwear manufacturer, sealed a joint venture to penetrate
the growing activewear market. The collaboration resulted in
the establishment of the Yuen Thai Industrial Company
Tien Hu – Sweater
In 2005, Luen Thai acquired more than 50 percent of the
Tien-Hu Group, a Hong Kong-based company engaged in the
trade and manufacturing of sweaters.
Group – Design and Trading In 2006, Luen Thai acquired 50 percent of TMS, a
company engaged in the design and trading of apparel
business. The move boosted Luen Thai's design and trading
capability as well as its presence in Europe.
International Company Ltd. (GTI) - Denim, Outerwear,
Children's wear, and Pants The year 2006 also marked the joint venture between
Guangdong Foreign Trade Group Ltd. and Luen Thai. The result
of the partnership is the GTI, which helped Luen Thai to
penetrate the denim wear market and build its outerwear,
children's wear, and pants capability.
Top Bags Limited
In August 2008, Luen Thai and Desk Top Bags formed a
partnership which allows both companies to broaden their
product categories and improve market reach. Desk Top is a
leader in the design and manufacturing of laptop bags as
well as fashionable handbags, backpacks and many others.
