Apparel and Footwear Association (AAFA),
Material World New York returns to the Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center, September 25-27,
2007 with a full-scale educational conference touching on
the industry's most important trend and business developments. In
addition to special presentations from top trend forecasters, the
schedule will also feature in depth programs touching on the show's
special focus areas, including
eco-friendly, performance, product lifecycle management (PLM),
design & merchandising solutions, and
home furnishing fabrics products.
Program
highlights include:
On Tuesday,
September 25, 2007, AAFA's special headliner event,
People, Planet,
and Profit: Reaching for the Pinnacle of Environmental
Sustainability, will take an in-depth view into the
triple bottom line through the eyes of today's notable companies who
are reaching the pinnacle of environmental sustainability.
Admission is $100 in advance and
$150 on-site, and includes lunch.
AAFA's Supplier Resource Committee will also present
Winning Product
Lifecycle Management Strategies Achieving Speed, Visibility and
Control on Wednesday, September 26 from 9:30-10:45
a.m. Leading industry brands and their PLM practitioners will share
how they are meeting the challenges of cheaper, faster, better.
Admission is $50 in advance and $75 on-site.
On the trend
front, AAFA and The Doneger Group will present
Changing Trends
in Trending on Thursday, September 27 from 10:00 -
11:00 a.m. Led by David Wolfe,
creative director of Doneger Creative Services; this
presentation will examine the changing methods that the fashion
system is undergoing as it constantly adapts to the evolving retail
landscape and consumer lifestyle. Admission for this program is
free. No registration is required for free programs. Admission will
be first come, first served.
Material World
New York will also provide attendees with advance color and trend
direction highlighting the Autumn/winter 2008 season for both the
apparel and home industries with a number of complimentary trend
presentations from the industry's leading trend trackers and
services, including Pantone, Stylesight, Trend Union and Promostyl.
