Gadzooks, Inc. (Nasdaq: GADZ) announced that it has entered into an exclusivity agreement with Von Dutch Originals. Under the terms of the agreement, Von Dutch Originals agrees to design exclusive apparel, swimwear, shoes and accessories for Gadzooks for a term of eighteen months. Gadzooks will offer this exclusive assortment under the Von Dutch Originals label in Gadzooks' 400 plus specialty retail stores beginning in November 2003. The Von Dutch assortment will retail from $16.00 to $89.00. The name Von Dutch is derived from the late Kenneth Howard, a California legend credited for his artistic craftsmanship ability and custom painted pin stripes and flame designs on cars. Over a decade later, the name Von Dutch has become an icon for celebrities and rock stars on the streets of Hollywood. Von Dutch expresses individuality and freedom of expression, hence the signature logo, "the flying eyeball." Commenting on behalf of Gadzooks, President and Chief Merchandising Officer Paula Masters stated, "We are very excited about our new partnership with Von Dutch and connection with this high profile brand.
