Gadzooks, Inc. (Nasdaq: GADZ) today announced that sales for the four weeks of fiscal August ended August 30, 2003 decreased 34.4 percent to $20.0 million from $30.5 million for fiscal August 2002. Comparable store sales decreased 33.6 percent for the August period, compared to a 6.4 percent decrease for fiscal August of 2002. For the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2003, total sales decreased 14.1 percent to $159.3 million from $185.5 million for the comparable period of fiscal 2002. Comparable store sales have declined 14.1 percent for the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2003, versus a 3.4 percent decrease for the first 30 weeks of fiscal 2002.
