Her rational show comprised largely comfortable separates with quirky details like twisted, bunched jackets, ragamuffin layers, unexpected color accents and raw-edged tweed skirts. Surprising were her Victorian-inspired suitings with stuffy portrait collars and oversized belt tabs. Waistlines shifted with fluidity from high to low, always maintaining the same level of urbane chic. A true barometer of her talent. Poorboy-inspired knitwear provided charming layers, with cableknit vests, angora halters and little shrugs looking best. Of course the footwear was eye-catching: tweed-covered wedge boots deftly implied the season's hot menswear trend and suede-covered soles conveyed a slightly hooflike toe character. If 7th Avenue needs another quirky megabrand - this is it! |
