Gadzooks, Inc. (Nasdaq: GADZ)announced that sales for the four weeks of fiscal January ended February 1, 2003 decreased 5.1 percent to $16.9 million from $17.8 million for fiscal January 2001. Comparable store sales decreased 7.7 percent for the January period, compared to a 0.8 percent decrease for fiscal January of 2001.
Sales for the 13 weeks of the fourth quarter ended February 1, 2003 decreased 0.5 percent to $96.8 million from $97.3 million for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2001. Comparable store sales declined 3.1 percent for the quarter, versus a 3.9 percent decrease for the last quarter of fiscal 2001.
For the 52 weeks of fiscal 2002, total sales increased 3.7 percent to $325.5 million from $313.8 million for fiscal 2001. Comparable store sales have declined 3.4 percent for the fiscal year, versus a 5.1 percent decrease for fiscal 2001.
