Reed Miller (Owner of Toast & Strawberries) & Elaine Moore on Thursday, June 14th, 6-8 pm at BEADAZZLED book store @ 1507 Connecticut Ave. NW Washington, DC, for a book- signing to promote the release of Rosemary E. Reed Miller's new book, The Threads of Time, The fabric of History. The book explores the history of 38 African American designers and dressmakers, as well as their accomplishments and involvement in the fiber industry. The gifted women featured in this book designed many well-known costumes and dresses, without receiving proper credit. Reed Miller profiles the designers to draw attention to their achievements. In conjunction with the book signing, artist Elaine Robnett Moore, who also serves as President of the Bead Society of Greater Washington, will show and discuss her jewelry designs. Moore combines the magic of beads and her travel experiences (in Africa and the Caribbean), along with her own African- American heritage, to create wearable art, which is magnificent in color, style, and grace. *Refreshments will be served*
