Los Angeles International Textile Show at California Market Center Presents West Coast Premiere Resource and Trends

The Los Angeles International Textile Show will be held at the California Market Center (CMC) from April 14-16, 2009.  The original Los Angeles Textile Show, now in its sixteenth year is the premier resource and trend forecasting textile show on the West Coast. The April 2009 Show will feature over 200 exhibitors from around the globe, multiple trend galleries throughout the Show, as well as an expanded seminar presentation line-up. On Thursday, April 16, 2009, Fashion Group International will hold their Student Designer Scholarship Awards Presentation, as well as premiere the screening of Fashion Weeks 2009 Ready to Wear Runway Trends along with an industry mixer.

 

Exhibitors during the upcoming LA Textile show will feature companies from countries including US, UK, Greece, Italy, France, Turkey, Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, China, Africa, Brazil and more. The Show is also welcoming fifteen new, first time exhibitors. Returning to this Show is the KTTA Korean Textile Pavilion, taking place in the Fashion Theater and showcasing  12 of Korea's top textile companies.  Exhibitor categories during the Show include fabrics and Leathers (in Luxe, Casual, Tailored, Innovation and D
cor style categories), creative trim/notions/accessories, print design studios and art services, trend forecasting and color services, embroidery, dyeing and production services, apparel design software and tech solutions, and sourcing and manufacturing packages.

 

A sampling of returning exhibitors includes, Junior Hagen Ltd., Cotton Inc, Alexander Henry, Waverly fabrics, Pat Brandt Company, Robert Kaufman Co., Stylesight, Woolworks, Cotton Inc., European Textile Group, Mitchell Group, One World Button Supply, Lenzing fibers, Robert Allen fabrics, Silko House, Solstiss/bucol, Evergreen Mills, California Label Products, Apsara Silks, Ace fabrics & Trims and many more.

 

This April, the LA Textile Show will also feature an expanded seminar schedule and trend presentations with 24 total seminars. The seminars will take place every day of the Show in Suite C700 and are free and open to all registered attendees. Presenting organizations include Peclers Paris, Design Options, Lenzing fabrics Inc. & Murata Machinery USA Inc., WGSN, Fashion Snoops, Fashion Business Inc. (FBI), Promostyl, Woolworks International, Cotton Inc., About Sources and more. Additionally, the California Market Center and the LA Textile Show have partnered with FBI to introduce the Business Insight Series, presenting free daily seminars in suite C786 including topics such as, Understanding Apparel Principles Using Software Applications,
and others.

 

As a leader in presenting directional and inspiration trends each season, the LA International Textile Show has expanded the trend galleries and offerings throughout the Show. Attendees are invited to pick up complimentary color cards provided by Lenzing fibers (available in showroom PH-32). Additionally, attendees are encouraged to explore the multiple Trend Galleries in the Main Lobby as well as the NEW Trend Gallery on the Penthouse Level 13.

 

The Show Lounge, located on the Exhibit Floor in the Penthouse, has been designed to make attendees
and exhibitors Show visit as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.  AIMS Software & Focal Technology Solutions will sponsor an Internet Lounge in the Penthouse with complimentary Internet access during show hours and coffee and pastries from 9am to 11am.  In the afternoon, attendees are invited to the Show Lounge for complimentary massages as well as a selection of industry publications.

 

On the last day of the Show, April 16, 2009 from 3:30pm - 6pm, Fashion Group International will host their Student Designer Scholarship Awards Presentation as well as the West Coast premiere of FGI's Fashion Weeks 2009 Ready to Wear Runway Trends film in Suite C700. The Awards presentation will be at 3:30pm, followed by a screening of Fashion Weeks 2009 Ready to Wear Runway Trends at 4:00pm. The event will conclude with an industry networking mixer at 5:00pm. The event is $15 general admission and open to all FGI members, LA Textile Show attendees and exhibitors as well as fashion industry professionals (free for students).

The Autumn 2010-winter 2011 Los Angeles International Textile Show will take place from September 30 - October 2, 2009. The LA Textile Show will be co-locating with Material World & Technology Solutions at the California Market Center, creating the industry's largest, most comprehensive marketplace for fashion textiles, home furnishings textiles, sourcing, global fashion production, and supply chain resources on the West Coast.
