Exclusively at Kmart
Jones Apparel Group, Inc. announced today that GLO jeans will be carried exclusively at Kmart stores nationwide beginning in January 2010. GLO jeans is a fresh, hip lifestyle jeanswear brand that attracts junior consumers 13-19 and beyond. The collection will include denim and non-denim bottoms, knit tops, woven tops and dresses. In addition, the Company is also licensing handbags that will launch at the same time, and will eventually license other categories.
The GLO core consumer exemplifies a personal style that is fashionable, trendy and cool. This season's key denim trends include signature embroidered back pockets and skinny jeans, as well as an extensive "fit" story in elevated and progressive finishes and washes. The trends for tops also follow the trend right styles for spring 2010, with graphic, cold shoulder and zipper details that round out an assortment of molded cup tanks with lace trim and corset details. The tote and hobo style handbags will be available in eye-catching metallic and animal prints.
The new, compelling GLO jeans brand will be offered at affordable retail price points. The line will retail from $19.98 to $22.98 for basic denim, $26.99 to $29.99 for fashion denim, $19.99 to $21.99 for spring cropped pants, $9.99 to $16.99 for tops, $17.99 to $19.99 for shorts and $16.99 to $24.99 for handbags.
"We view GLO jeans as an important brand that has tremendous potential to reach the fashion savvy Kmart junior consumer who shops with quality and value in mind. We look forward to working with Kmart to realize the full capability of this brand," said Jack Gross, CEO of Jones Jeanswear Group.
"GLO jeans rounds out an extensive portfolio of brands at Kmart, designed to help the junior and even young missy customer get the best fashion and latest trends at affordable prices," said Robin Creen, Chief Marketing Officer, Kmart Apparel. "Denim is an absolute staple for this shopper--her wardrobe often revolves around a pair of 'wow' jeans. Our goal is to provide as many options in cut, fit, and wash as possible in this must-have category."
The launch of GLO jeans in Kmart will also be supported by a national advertising campaign featuring ads in Seventeen magazine (March, September), People Style Watch magazine (April, August, September) and through online and social networking support as well as in-store /pOS visuals.
