High-End Suit Making in Chicago

Oxxford Clothes occupies a narrow, demanding corner of American menswear: the high-end suit. A suit at that level is judged on cloth, construction, fit and finishing rather than on seasonal fashion, and a manufacturer founded in 1916 by Jacob and Louis Weinberg and based in Chicago built its reputation inside that craft tradition. Chicago matters as a location because American tailored clothing historically clustered in a handful of manufacturing cities, where skilled cutters, sewers and pressers, pattern knowledge and relationships with cloth merchants could be sustained across generations of workers.
