A ready-to-fill tech pack workbook with a measurement sheet that grades your sizes for you.
This free Excel tech pack has eight sheets: Style Overview, Sketches, Bill of Materials, Colorways, Measurements, Construction, Labels & Packaging and Revisions. The Bill of Materials works out the cost per garment, and the Measurements sheet calculates every graded size from your base measurements and grade rules. Each table starts with an example row you can overwrite.

Enter the style number, name, season, size range and version. The Example column shows the kind of entry that works.
On the Sketches sheet, use Insert > Pictures to place your flat sketches and photos in the boxes.
On the Bill of Materials sheet, list fabrics and trims with their placement, quantity, unit and waste percentage. Add a price if you want the sheet to calculate cost per garment.
Name each colorway and add a color reference such as a Pantone number or an approved swatch.
Choose your base size and unit, then enter each point of measure, its base measurement, the grade per size and the tolerance. The graded sizes fill in automatically. Use decimals, so 1/2 is 0.5.
Complete the listed topics with your specifications. Label contents are regulated in many markets, so confirm those requirements separately.
Record each change with a date and version. Send the factory a PDF (File > Save as or Print to PDF) and keep the Excel file as your working copy.
