Important Note: Bon-Ton Stores filed for Chapter 11 in February 2018.  It was later determined that they would be closing the stores.  Great American Group and Tiger Capital Group acquired Bon-Ton's assets through a court-supervised bankruptcy auction in April.  Court records filed earlier this year indicated that liquidation sales would run through Aug. 31, 2018. Individual stores’ closing dates vary depending on how much merchandise remains.  Bon-Ton employed more than 700 workers at its corporate offices on Wisconsin Avenue, where it also ran a store under the Boston Store nameplate. In other parts of the state and country, the chain operated around 200 stores under banners such as Younkers, Herberger's, Carson's, Bon-Ton and Elder-Beerman.
