WWDMAGIC, the leading fashion industry tradeshow for brands interested in the 13-25 demographic, and Teen Vogue will host an interactive concourse experience at the upcoming WWDMAGIC show in Las Vegas on February, 14 – 16, 2011. Amid more than 1,300 exhibiting companies from around the world, WWDMAGIC and Teen Vogue will feature 30 emerging and celebrity fashion bloggers and writers who will participate in blogger panels, an informal blogger conference, trend reporting, real-time video segments, buyer chats and style-offs, creating a comprehensive showcase of trends for the target demographic.
The first 14 of the 30 fashion writers and bloggers selected to cover the February 2011 WWDMAGIC show have been unveiled and are as follows:
Bloggers and writers will compete for a host of prizes as well as the role of the official WWDMAGIC correspondent at the August 2011 show. Daily, impactful blogger coverage will also be aggregated at www.WWDMagic.tumblr.com.
"Teen Vogue has long championed the notion of the importance of personal style," says Sabine Feldmann, VP/publisher of Teen Vogue. "And in this new age of social media, the individual is more in control than ever. That's why we are thrilled to be hosting the first-ever Blogger Concourse Lounge at WWDMAGIC. It's also the ideal platform for us to promote the launch of Fashion Click on TeenVogue.com – a personal style blogger network that offers the best looks from our favorite blogs…all in one place."
Sponsoring brands to be featured in the concourse lounge are Free People, Levi's, Jessica Simpson and French Connection.
Throughout the WWDMAGIC show, bloggers and attendees will check-in using Whrrl, a leading geo-location service. Check-ins, photos and "Whrrl Stories" will be aggregated in a custom branded WWDMAGIC Fashion Society on Whrrl.com. Show attendees will see all of the bloggers' activities as they report from the show aggregated on TV screens mounted in the Teen Vogue lounge and on The Concourse. Additionally, bloggers and show attendees who use Whrrl will receive exclusive, members-only check-in deals from restaurants, clubs, retails and entertainment properties throughout Las Vegas during the show. Bloggers and show attendees who check-in on The Concourse will also chance to win prizes from WWDMAGIC show brands. In order to participate, attendees must download the Whrrl application, which is available for iPhone, Android and Blackberry devices, and at m.whrrl.com for all other mobile phones.
As part of the interactive installations on the WWDMAGIC concourse, community-driven crowdsourcing online shop Moxsie (Apparel Search note: Moxie later became part of Fab.com) will host their wildly popular BuyerChat series on Twitter live from WWDMAGIC show floor. BuyerChat is a new marketing strategy for the online retailer that combines social gaming with social engagement activities via Twitter. Bloggers and show attendees participating in BuyerChat vote on and discuss the apparel that Moxsie will sell online following the show. Participants earn virtual badges for their participation. Interested parties can participate by following Moxsie and tweeting their feedback with the hashtag, "#buyerchat."
