GEN ART AND SCHICK
QUATTRO
FOR WOMEN PRESENT THE 8TH ANNUAL FRESH FACES IN FASHION SHOW

Unveiling the Brightest New Stars in Fashion

Los Angeles, CA (September 27, 2005) - On Friday, October 14, 2005, Gen Art and Schick Quattro for Women will host Fresh Faces in Fashion, its eighth annual event dedicated to launching the best emerging fashion designers on the West Coast. This highly anticipated event, hosted at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, with an accessory designer reception at 7:00pm and a runway show at 8:00pm, will kickoff Los Angeles Fashion Week. The show will debut the work of six womenswear, one menswear and one swimwear designer on the catwalk, and four accessory designers in installations. Fresh Faces in Fashion is Gen Art's anchor fashion event committed to the growth of independent and spirited fashion talent. A celebratory party will follow the show.

Editors and stylists from the world's leading publications and fashion houses helped Gen Art select only twelve of the most promising designers from among hundreds of hopefuls.  Some of these designers have already become favorites among celebrities like Cameron Diaz, Jessica Simpson and Kate Hudson.  This year, the womenswear lines include Bon & Ging by Nanette and Grace Sullano, Fancy Ponyland by Lorna Leedy, Franny by Gladys Tamez and Jeanell Seggs, Geren Ford by Geren Lockhart, Hazel Brown by Ali Blankley and Undesigned by Carol Young.  The menswear line is Elmer Avenue.  The swimwear line is Katnic Swimwear by Lisa Katnic.  And the accessory lines include Brit Jeet by Jeet Sohal, Myla & Co by Corina Myla Haywood, S&J shoes by Jeannie Lee/sophia Banks and Sid Vintage by Nanci Bennet.

Lee Trimble, senior fashion program manager for Gen Art L.A., says, "We are happy to provide the industry with a first glimpse of these talented new fashion designers, and believe that they each herald a new and exciting chapter in the recognition of LA as a fashion capital." Gen Art LA Director Jennifer Egan agrees,
I believe this show will be our biggest one yet and with 40,000 square feet of space, we definitely have the room.  It is just one of many ways in which we continue to be a resource for new talent to press and industry professionals

Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion event has an unparalleled track record for showcasing tomorrow's top designers.  Previous discoveries include Louis Verdad (who dressed Madonna, Cate Blanchett and others following his debut at the show), Zac Posen, Shoshanna, Rebecca Taylor, Michelle Mason, Hollywould, Jared Gold, Cloak, Eugenia Kim and Eduardo Lucero.  Three of these Gen Art alumni designers have gone on to win best new designer of the year by the CFDA following their debut with Gen Art.

According to Los Angeles Magazine, Fresh Faces in Fashion has become the showcase for promising local designers, and, arguably, Fashion Week's hottest ticket.
