Reptile NFTs

Reptile NFTs are the swamp corner of the Apparel Search NFT collections: alligators, crocodiles, and even some creatures that nobody is exactly sure are reptiles. The page gathers the reptile pieces of the 2021 experiment in one place, and every piece name below links to its own OpenSea listing.

The family holds two groups. Crocs in Love is a single piece, and Alligators in Love is one artwork issued in seven treatments. The crocodile's biggest role, though, is on its own collection page: it is the opponent in Coco Fights Crocodile, the first of Coco's three adventure series.

The Artwork: Alligators in Love

Where the Coco collections play their reptiles for peril, the reptile page's own artwork plays them for romance: a pair of alligators in love. It is the gentlest scene in the whole NFT corner — no chase, no stomp, no taunting — and it was issued the way the Coco scenes were, as one artwork in a run of finishes.

The seven treatments give the same pair seven moods: Cantaloupe warms them, Full Sepia and Sepia age them two different ways, Gray Scale removes the color, and Retro, Scratch and Vintage each add their own period wear.

Reptiles have a long fashion history of their own — crocodile and alligator leathers, snake prints, and the faux versions of all of them — so a reptile corner was inevitable in a fashion site's NFT experiment.
